With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Joyce Lambert on Thursday, July 15, 2010, at Douglas Campbell Lodge at the age of 71 years.
She was predeceased by her husbands Steve Popiel and Lorne Cameron; parents Dave and Agnes Sanderson; sisters Lorry Lervasi, Lousie Sanderson and brother David Sanderson. Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her children Donna (Rob) Popiel of Sudbury, ON, Tom (Michelle) Popiel of Dauphin, MB, Kathy (Kevin) Conrad of Edmonton, AB, George (Donna) Popiel of Edmonton AB and Lorri Lyn (Gary) Pearce of Portage la Prairie, along with grandchildren Kevin, Jr, Billy, Tyson, Cameron, Mitch, Tania, Steven, Andrea (Anne), Jessica and Matt. Also left to mourn her passing are her brothers Jim Sanderson of Portage la Prairie, Albert (Fiona) Sanderson of Winnipeg, Neil Sanderson of Winnipeg, and Harvey (Diane) Sanderson of Newton; sisters Gladys (Henry) Hiebert of Winnipeg, Gayle (Floyd) Johnson of Poplar Point, Betty Ann (Allan) Wren of Winnipeg and Beatrice Hall of Winnipeg as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.
Many knew Joyce through her taxicab driving of 17 years and her dedicated volunteer work with the Foundation of Life, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Portage Services for Seniors and the Salvation Army. Joyce enjoyed her hobby of tri-chem and loved to travel. She was always welcoming with a big smile and a pot of coffee.
The family extends sincere gratitude to the Douglas Campbell Lodge Staff for such good care of mom.
Memorial Service will be held at The Salvation Army Citadel, Portage la Prairie on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 2:00 pm led by Marg Oldford.
