Joseph Cooper

October 18, 1965 — December 27, 2016

Joseph Leonard Cooper

It is with heavy hearts and much sorrow that we announce the passing of Joe Cooper at the age of 51.  Left to cherish his memory, his wife Kellie Lynne, his mother Marion, siblings Jacqueline, Heather (Ric), Stephen (Christine), 8  nieces and nephews and many, many friends too numerous to mention.  He is predeceased by his father John Charles (Jack) and niece Amanda Letitia Matthews.

Joe was born in Winnipeg but spent his entire life in and around Portage la Prairie... this is where he built an enviable life for Kellie and himself.

Taken from us much too soon, he was surrounded by love and peace as he took his last earthly breath.  He is with the angels now and for that we are truly grateful.  All who knew  him, we know, are at a loss for words.  He was the hardest working man we knew.  He was determined to own Guinn and Simpson one day.  He would have given his last dollar or shirt off of his back to help someone in need.  He was so many people’s best friend... working on their houses, cars, cottages, anything they needed, he was there.  He loved hunting, fishing, the outdoors all year round.  He loved his dogs to pieces.  He was many people’s shining light and Kellie’s very best friend.  God speed dear Joe, until we all meet again.

The family would like to thank all of the wonderful health care providers who assisted Joe on this difficult journey... Eden Health Centre, Niverville Personal care home and Douglas Campbell Lodge.

A service to celebrate Joe's life will be held at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 1:00 pm.
