Also left to mourn Jacks passing are in-laws Lynn Twiss, Bob and Marilyn Hannah, Clifford Hannah, Wendy and Stanley Twiss, Floyd and Darlene Hannah, Diane Dunning and Eddy and Kerry Hannah and their families, as well as his best friends Tom Bedford and Bill and Helen Goodberry. He was predeceased by his father, Francis (Ted) Seymour Rehill, brother Robert Rehill and brothers-in-law Arthur Twiss and Kenny Hannah.
Jack was born and raised in Portage la Prairie, MB. After high school, he went to Red River College and graduated as a draftsman and architect. His career took him to Winnipeg, Toronto and even Philadelphia. In the late 80’s, Jack returned to Winnipeg to work and raise his sons.
Jack’s next chapter began when he met the love of his life, Holly, in 1991. In 1996, they went to Las Vegas and got married, then Portage became home for Jack once again. He was a wonderful provider, and Holly’s children became his children.
Jack was employed as a draftsman at Rempel’s in Winnipeg. He then made a career move and became a Juvenile Counsellor working at Agassiz Youth Centre for 10 years. Following retirement, Jack continued to work as a Community Support Worker until his passing.
Jack had a great sense of humour, and loved when someone told a good joke. He was a kind and very patient man… a gentle soul with a streak of stubbornness.
Jack was an avid golfer throughout his life. In his younger years, he would often golf with his brother Rob. He then taught Holly, and together they travelled to many courses in Manitoba. Later in life, Jack continued his interest in sports through watching them on TV. Golf was still number one, but he also enjoyed hockey and football.
Jack looked forward to visits with his brother Pat, who would come home to Portage on his Harley. He would also check in on his sister Carla with yearly birthday wishes and catch-ups.
Jack loved being at home, but enjoyed his daily outings to grab a newspaper. Once back home, he would read about the world news, and do the printed puzzles. Reading books and doing crosswords and other puzzles kept him busy.
Everyone who knew Jack knew he had his favorite chair. At Holly’s request, he would occasionally try a different one, but quickly went back to what he liked.
Jack, we hope you are sitting in your favorite chair in Heaven.
