Peacefully, with his family by his side, John Taylor passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 95 years.
John leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 65 years Dorothy; daughter Linda (Danny Sokolosky) of Portage la Prairie, Mb; son Derek (Shelley) of Winnipeg, Mb; stepson Ross Woods and their families. John was predeceased by his daughter Carlotta.
Visitation and viewing will take place on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 7 pm to 8pm at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel. A celebration of John’s life will be held at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 2 pm, led by Rev. Beth Kerr. Interment will take place at a later date at Rosewood Cemetery in Brandon, MB.
As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in John’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba – Portage Office, c/o 824 18th ST, Unit 3, Brandon, MB R7A 5B7.
