John Alford "Jack" Miller

Jack Miller was born on the family farm in the Mill Creek District to John and Bella (nee Gibb) Miller. He passed away peacefully at the Lions Prairie Manor on Friday, June 11, 2010.
Jack was predeceased by his parents; four sisters Isabelle Miller, Edythe Burnett, Jean Craig and Dorothy Fotheringham; one brother Art Miller; father & mother-in-law Everett and Ethel Robertson; sister-in-law Lillian Maxwell; brothers-in-law John Thornton, Harry Thornton, Bill Craig, Al Fotheringham, Floyd Blight and Ted Maxwell. Jack is survived by his wife of 54 years, Edna; sons Gavin, Bradley, Ward (Lani) and Scott (Connie); grandchildren Chad (Heather), Nicole, Braydon, Devin and Paige; his sister Mabel Thornton, brother-in-law Jack Burnett (Chris); sisters-in-law Verna Blight and Lynn Miller; and many nieces and nephews.
Jack was a farmer at heart. He farmed with his dad in the Mill Creek District until 1955 when he married Edna and took over the Robertson farm at Elm River. In 1963 they purchased the Coates farm and farmed until he retired in 2004. He moved to the Lions Prairie Manor on January 13, 2009 where he received loving care from every one there.
Jack was buried in the Oakville Cemetery. There was a Reception for family and friends at the Oakville Community Hall on Thursday, June 17, 2010.
