Predeceased by his father George Myran; siblings Joyce, Donald, Valerie and Timothy; Left to mourn his passing are his partner Mary and special friend Gertie; mother Daisy Myran;children Richard (Kim), Robert, Lisa, Pamela and Kathy; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sisters Gloria, Patricia, Cynthia (Nathan); brothers Ralph (Veronica), Terry (Darlene), Edward, Douglas and Darryl and brothers-in-law Alec Contois and Clifford Patrick.
John was a Residential School survivor and was a great athlete as he still holds records in the high-jump, polevaulting in Birtle. He lived most of his life in Winnipeg, where he worked at numerous positions. He attended various church services and made many friends along the way. He enjoyed looking after his grandchildren whom they affectionately called "Pappa".
The family would like to thank the emergency medical staff at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and the Winnipeg Ambulance Services for the care that was given to John. We thank in advance to all involved with the cooking and serving during our time of mourning. Thank you also to McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel in Portage la Prairie.

Traditional Feast and Funeral - Wednesday, February 27, 2013 beginning at 11:00 am at Long Plain Spirit Lodge, Long Plain First Nation, Manitoba.
Burial in Myran/Woods Cemetery.
