Predeceased by his son Doug, his son-in-law Steve Prince, grandchildren Kirt and Darcy,

Dad received his education in Portage la Prairie.  In his early years dad was employed as Forman for Majestic Oil Company.  In 1960 he worked for the Department of Highways as heavy equipment’s operator.  He remained employed with them until his accident in 1985.  Dad spent his holidays guiding the American duck hunters at Delta Mallard Lodge.  He had many good times with the Americans and would frequently talk of his cousins who were employed at the Lodge. When Dad retired from the Department of Highways, he kept busy by working seasonally with Blight farms.

Dad was a real gentleman, a true and loyal friend, and a strong family man.  He loved having his family home for Sunday dinners or Friday night fish fries.  He was honored with being the longest standing member at the Portage Royal Canadian Army and Navy of 60 years.  Dad was a true devote Catholic and he attended services at the Good Shepherd Church.

Prayers will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017 at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at the Good Shephard Roman Catholic Church at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at a later date.
