At War's end, Joan left her family in England and came to Canada to start her new life here with Floyd. Joan and Floyd were married in 1947 and together they made their life in Portage where they raised two daughters Hazel and Sheila. Joan and Floyd enjoyed their years together in Portage la Prairie, working and raising their family and making many close friends. In later years they enjoyed many winters in Mesa and Arizona.
