Joan Atkins

Peacefully on Sunday, August 22, 2021, Joan Anna Atkins passed away with family by her side at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 85 years.

She was predeceased by her husband Lloyd Atkins, her parents Paul and Anna Lang, her brothers and their wives: Clifford (Flo), Leonard (Audrey), Donald (Dorothy), and brother-in-law Steve Nagy.  Joan will lovingly be remembered by her children Cathy (Rick) Graham, Greg Atkins, Pat (Rich) Notturno, Teresa Atkins (Don), Allison Atkins (Glenn) and Christine Atkins (Mark); grandchildren Jackie (Dan) Unrau, Jennifer (Tim) Rodgers, Candace (Steven) Preston, Melissa (Gary) Harris, Steven Atkins, and Andrew Clare; 10 great-grandchildren Olivia and Sophia Rodgers, Taylor and Katelyn Preston, Logan, Dominic and Tyler Harris, Nevaeh and Marli Atkins, Taya Clare, and Joan’s sisters Jeannette Nagy, Jean Lang and Susan (Dick) Peacock, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A private family burial will take place at the Neepawa Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Joan’s memory to Central Plains Cancer Services, 318 Saskatchewan Ave. E., Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 0K8.
