With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Jeff Wettlaufer on Saturday, July 31, 2010, in Portage la Prairie at the age of 17 years.

Predeceased by great grandparents Bill & Isabell Sharp and Joe & Myrtle Marquette; grandfather Ronald Wettlaufer; cousins Stephanie and Geophrey Sharp and Kelly Tralnberg. Left to treasure his memory are his parents Beverly (Stephen Stadnyk) and Ken (Elizabeth Jones); brothers Randy (Kim) Sharp and Benjamin (Kassandra Webster) Wettlaufer; sister Nicole Stadnyk; stepbrothers Josh and Jessie Jones; niece Caytelynne and nephew Riley; his very special girl Haley Farncombe; grandparents Bill and Verna Sharp and Audrey Wettlaufer; uncles Faron (Robin) Sharp and Glenn (Donna) Wettlaufer; aunts Janet (Harry) Peeters, Karen (Ross) Hunt and Dianna (Rick) Viallet; many cousins and endless friends.

Jeff was born on April 29, 1993 in Portage la Prairie. He attended North Memorial and Laverendrye Schools and was currently attending Portage Collegiate Institute.

Jeff always enjoyed being on the farm. He started out farming beside Grandpa and was currently employed at Aalbers Farm Ltd., working alongside his brother. His dreams were to graduate and venture to Alberta and become a Heavy Duty Mechanic.

Jeff loved hanging with his many friends, working on his truck, which he was so proud of owning. He was a hardworker and enjoyed spending time with his dog Sasha and her puppies.

Jeff is loved by many and will be forever remembered.

Visitation will take place at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel on Friday, August 6, 2010 from 7 pm to 8 pm. Memorial Service will be held at Portage Alliance Church on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 10:00 am led by Pastor Ray Willms.

As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made to Portage School Division for the Power Mechanics and BCT Programs in memory of Jeff Wettlaufer, 535 3rd Street SW, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 2C4 or the Portage Salvation Army, Box 476, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 3B7.
