Jeanne Noella Duprey

Peacefully on Friday, February 3, 2012 at the Portage District General Hospital Jeanne Duprey, wife of the late Philip Duprey passed away at the age of 93 years.
Jeanne was predeceased by her husband Philip; parents Stanislaus and Florinda; and siblings Yvonne, George, Dorothee, Cyprienne, Germain, Leon, Stan, Yvette and Noel.
Left to mourn Jeanne are her children: son Donald and grandchildren David, Natasha, Jacob, Ethan and Mattea; son Larry & Mina and grandchildren Martine (Matt), Tania (Rob) and Phil (Rebecca); son Tim and Sheila and grandchildren Damien (Kate) and Nicholas; and daughter Michelle; seven great grandchildren Isabella, Lucas, Noah, Danika, Rosalie, Madeleine and Zoe, and many nieces and nephews.
Jeanne was born on December 22, 1918 in Ste, Elizabeth, Manitoba. She married Philip Duprey on October 24, 1939 and lived near Ste. Elizabeth in Dufrost, and Dominion City. When Phil was transferred by his company they moved to Portage la Prairie in the summer of 1945. Jeanne was an active person, great cook and the best knitter. She was known for making the baby toques for the Portage Hospital maternity ward. Jeanne loved to play cards, and together with Phil they played duplicate bridge at the Elk's Hall with many different friends. In recent years every visitor was greeted with " Do you want to play Skip-Bo". Jeanne kept herself busy with a big garden and driving friends to appointments. She was a dedicated member of the Royal Purple for over 60 years. Jeanne was deeply devoted and lifelong member of St. John's Catholic Church now Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Parish.
She was a wonderful mother. grandmother and friend and will be sadly missed.
Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday. February 9, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church.
