With her family by her side Jean Clearwater passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2014 in the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 86 years.
Jean was predeceased by her husband Elmer (1992); daughter Audrey Armishaw (2008) and son-in-law Greg Bray (1980). She leaves to cherish her memory her son Fred (Barbara) Clearwater of Russell, MB and their children Carolyn (Warren) Fullerton and Patricia (Rick) Zermeno; son-in-law Jim Armishaw of Portage, MB and his children Patrick, Ian (Dayna) and Jason (Tara Nicol); daughter Joy Bray (Ken Smith) of Portage, MB and their children Angela (Ian) Mills and Kimberly (Greg) Humphries; son Cam Clearwater (Marjorie Larkins) and children Carmen (Jesse Ducharme), Scott, Crystal and Derrick; great-grandchildren Kaylee and Kira Fullerton, Ashley and Micheal Armishaw, Jennifer and Isabella Mills, Ally and Graysen Humphries, Alexis and Kaiden Nearing; brother Jim Burrows of St. Claude, MB; sister Dorothy Bullen (Fred) of Edmonton, AB and family friend Marie and many extended family members and friends.
Jean was born in Miami, Manitoba on November 2, 1927. She met Elmer Clearwater and they married on June 16, 1945. The couple remained in Manitoba their whole life, living in various locations. During this time they enjoyed each place while making lasting friendships over the years. Elmer and Jean moved to Portage in 1987 to spend their retirement years. Jean enjoyed spending time with her family.
Funeral Service will take place on Friday, May 16, 2014 at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel at 1:00 pm with viewing prior to service. Interment will take place at the Miami Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Jean’s memory to the Central Plains Cancer Care Services, 318 Saskatchewan Ave. E., Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 0K8.
