Peacefully with family by her side, Jean Bowler wife of the late Don Bowler passed away on Monday, May 12, 2014 at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 79 years.

Jean was predeceased by her husband Don Bowler and the father of her children Bob Grundy.  Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Chris (Bob) Preston, Kim (Doug) Smith, Jenny Grundy and Kelly (Todd) Bellas; grandchildren Cole (Tisha) Preston, Reed (Ashley) Preston, Lacey (Evan) Mostoway, Skylar (Delaney) Vandoorne, Maddison Bellas, Jordan and Quinn Bellas; great-grandchildren Ainsley and Rylan Preston; brother Robert Owens and extended family and friends.

Jean was born and raised in Manitou where she met and married Bob Grundy.  Together, they raised their 4 daughters, Chris, Kim, Jenny and Kelly on their farm north of Manitou.  Years later Jean married Don Bowler.  Jean worked at various places in Manitou and Lethbridge.  She loved to sew and was a 4-H leader for many years passing on her knowledge to others.  Jean loved curling, golfing and watching different sports with family and friends.  She loved spending time outdoors, gardening, tending her flowers or sitting on her deck with a good book.

Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 11:00 am at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel, 56 Royal Road, South, Portage la Prairie.

As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Jean’s memory to Central Plains Cancer Care Services, 318 Saskatchewan Ave. E., Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 0K8 or to Oakville Cemetery, c/o Shirley Kirton, Box 88, Oakville, MB, ROH OYO. .
