"Bim"

With great sorrow we announce the passing of Bim on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, beloved wife to Henry (Hank) and Mom to Michael (deceased), Miles, Joanne and Mark; and Grandmother to Matthew, Eric, Cody and Megan.

Bim was born in Waubamik, Perry Sound District, Ontario on June 9, 1932 to Rufus and Mildred Harris. She married Henry in 1955 while enlisted in the R.C.A.F. at Trenton Ontario. Later they moved to the Portage la Prairie district in 1965 where over the years she worked at various jobs. In 1975 she moved to Oakville where with Hank opened a thriving garage restaurant business on the Trans Canada, which they owned for more than 10 years, making many friends along the way. Joining many of the local interests, over time Bim touched and enriched the lives of so many with her boundless energy and thoughtfulness. Throughout her life she had many passions, fishing and gardening among them. Bim has left us with many wonderful memories.

We give thanks to McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel and all the wonderful people both family and friends who made a difficult time just a little bit easier with their thoughtfulness.

Funeral Service was held at Knox United Church, Oakville, Manitoba on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 1:30 pm led by Rev. Chuck Ross and Shirley McLaren.

As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Bim's memory to Knox United Church, Box 246, Oakville, MB, ROH OYO or to Silver Threads Seniors Centre, 207 4th Street, Oakville, MB R0H 0Y0.
