Jakob Wiens

Peacefully, with his family by his side, Jakob Wiens passed away on April 6th, 2022 at the age of 83 years.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 55 years Helene, children Jake, Lili (David), Anna (Scott), Elizabeth (D’Arcy) and Tina (James), grandchildren Ethan, Nathaniel, Samuel, Payton, Jesse, Lucas, Aaron, Charlie, Josiah, Isabella, Kaleb and Ryley along with numerous relatives and friends.

Jakob was predeceased by his parents Jakob and Suzanna Wiens, brothers Peter and Henry.

Jakob moved often and lived in many places prior to starting his own family.  Tales of his adventures were his children’s favourite.  He immigrated to Canada with his young family to build a better life for them.  He worked hard and instilled a strong work ethic for his children by example.  Weekends were enjoyed with countless camping trips and outdoor fun.  He loved nature and being outdoors.  He loved his family.  His greatest joy were his grandchildren and through them, his legacy will live on.

As per Jakob’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Jakob's life will be held at Rock Christian Assembly, 125 4th Ave NE, Portage la Prairie on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 1:00 pm.
