Isaac was born February, 14, 1934 at Plum Coulee, Manitoba, third child of Abram and Tena Wiebe. He lived and went to school in the Plum Coulee area.  The family moved to a Graysville farm in his teen years.  It is here that he met his life long partner just a mile or so down the road, Erna Thiessen.  They celebrated their 54 th wedding anniversary this August.  Isaac started his early years working for a garage and machine shop in Carman and then as a carpenter.  He took mechanics at Tec Voc in Winnipeg.  Between mechanics and carpentry he always found more work than he could handle.  He worked for Ajax Equipment in Winnipeg for many years before he decided to go farming in Langruth in 1969.  Even in farming there is always things to fix, weld, machine and straighten out if not for your own use then for others.

Isaac was very community minded and served as councillor and then reeve for a total of eighteen years.  Isaac and Erna had three children, all born in Winnipeg, two daughters and one son.  Isaac loved boating, skiing and motorcycling in his younger years as well as playing hockey. Curling was a great winter pass time for many years. He loved deer hunting and guns.  Summer pass time in his senior years was fishing with his friend his son and grandson.
