Heather Elaine Gowler (nee Phillips)
Peacefully, Heather Elaine Gowler passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2012 in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba at the age of 65 years.
Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 47 years Frank Gowler; children Tracey (Bill) Langner, Shirley (Mike) and Robert Gowler; father Gail Phillips; brother Darrel Phillips; sisters Bonita (Robert) Leader and Shannon (Frank) Hannah; grandchildren Charmaine (Michel) and Daniel (Jamie) Langner, and Brandon, Wesley, and Eric Klyne; great grandchildren William and Hayleigh Wilkinson, Gavin, Chase, and Makayla Langner; nieces and nephews Jordan, Nathan and Jarred Phillips, Christine (Carolyn), Robert (Jennifer) Leader, Roxanne (Martial) Lemoine, Erin (Steve) Hannah; brother in law Vince Klyne, and very close family friend Keith Sheppard.
Heather is predeceased by her mother Hazel Phillips and daughter Sheri Gowler, and she will be greatly missed by all.
Heather was born June 4th 1947 in Portage, Manitoba. She grew up on the family farm in High Bluff, where she enjoyed, sewing, drawing and helping her dad on the farm. Later married husband Frank and moved to Poplar Point where she raised her family. Heather played a huge part in the community, where she was known for her kind heart, and welcomed everyone into her home. Heather had a passion for life that she shared threw her paintings and crafts. Christmas and Halloween were her favorite holidays, she spent countless hours making dainties, costumes, home made gifts and chocolates that people lined up for. Heather enjoyed camping with her grandchildren and the many trips to Winnipeg with her sister Bonnie. Heather was a very special woman who has touched a lot of lives young and old through her kindness and generosity, and she will be greatly missed by all.
A Come and Go Tea will be held Thursday August 23, 2012 from 4 to 6 pm at the Rotary Unit 4 Common Room, 80 a�" 9th Street SE, Portage la Prairie, MB.
As expression of sympathy, if friends so wish, donation's may be made in Heather's memory to Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation Inc. 675 McDermot Ave, Winnipeg MB R3E 0V9.
