Harvey was born in Grass River, Manitoba on August 5, 1936. From a young age he worked hard on the farm and enjoyed country living. He married Thelma Belton on July 3, 1959 and together raised their family on the farm until they sold it in 2006. Together they enjoyed many years of retirement which included winter getaways in Yuma, Arizona.
In addition to the love for his family and the farm, baseball, fishing, curling, golf and hunting held a special place in his heart. He was also an avid bowler and won the gold medal in bowling at the 2004 55+ games in Portage.
A service to celebrate Harvey’s life will be held at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 1:00 pm, led by Rev. Beth Kerr. Interment will take place at a later date in the Arden Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Dr. Eva Berman-Wong, the doctors and nursing staff of Health Sciences Centre and Portage General Hospital for their wonderful care and support during this most difficult time.
