Grace Elsie Daniels

October 9, 1928 – June 6, 2015

At her home, on the Long Plain First Nation, Grace passed on peacefully with her children and many grandchildren by her side.

Grace is predeceased by her father, Angus Merrick and mother Jean Hobson-Merrick, her beloved husband George Daniels; her daughters, Marlene, Wanda and Yvonne; her brothers Max, Frank, Louis, Mervin, Morris, Manus and sisters, Myrtle, Dolly, Evelyn and infant sister.

She leaves to mourn step-daughter Patricia; sons Ernie, David, Tony, Irvin, Kirby (Leeann) and daughters, Ruth (Ralph), Linda, Lizzie, Jacqueline (Clarence), Lydia, and Yvette, and 310 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; her sisters Joyce, Winona (Klaus), Carol, Shirley (Roger), and Memory (Wayne); her brother Ralph (Florence); sister-in-law Betty Daniels and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

For your kindness and support we would like to thank the Long Plain First Nation, DOCFS, physicians and nurses at the Portage Hospital, Pastor Chuck Marshall, Keith Pashe and Jeff, Owen & Paula at the McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel. We would like acknowledge these special ladies at the Long Plain Health Centre; Connie, Denise, Carol, Kim, Heather, Jessica, Eunice, Gina and Cyrstal for the commitment and comfort given to our mother. Traditional Wake and Christian Service will be held Tuesday evening, June 9 beginning at 5:00 at the Long Plain Rez Plex. Traditional Feast and Service will take place on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at noon, followed by her body being laid to rest in the Short Bear/Daniels Cemetery.
