Gordon Kenneth Supple
Peacefully, on Sunday, October 11, 2015, Ken Supple passed away at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 63 years.
Ken was born on January 5, 1952 at the Grace Hospital. He lived at the Manitoba Developmental Centre from 1958 until 2012 when he moved into his new home on Brookside Crescent where he lived until August of 2015 when illness forced him into the hospital.
The best words to describe Ken would have to be free spirit. This was a man who loved solitude. He loved the outdoors and peaceful walks. But he was also a man whose bright blue eyes would shine when friends would pay him a compliment. A man whose joyous laughter was contagious to any around him and whose goofy sense of humour could lighten any mood and send his household into hysterical laughter. It is this amazing sense of humour that will be greatly missed but never forgotten and has provided Ken’s friends with the many cherished memories that will be relied on to carry each one of them through this great loss.
We would like to send out a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Kim, the nursing staff at the PDGH, his support staff with New Directions and all of his friends that have been there to comfort and support Ken through this time.
Funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel at 11:00 am, led by Celebrant Jacqueline Schulz. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Ken’s memory to a charity of your choice.
A tree will be planted in memory and cared for by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel. 204-857-4021 www.mckenziesportagefuneralchapel.com
