Glenn Brydon James

Glenn James passed away on April 2, 2013 at Pine Acres Care Home at the age of sixty-one years old.

Glenn was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Mildred James; his special aunt, Connie James, who cared for him for many years; his cousin and friend, Craig James; his grandparents; and other aunts and uncles. He is survived by his Uncle Kent of Arizona,  James and Brydon cousins and relatives, and his dear friends, Ann, Gloria, Paul, Donna, Neil, Francis and Art.

Glenn grew up in Macdonald, Manitoba where he attended elementary school. During his high school years in Portage la Prairie, Glenn played guitar and sang in a rock band.  Music was always an important part of Glenn’s life.

For the past thirty years, Glenn resided in Kelowna BC where he spent a number of years living with his beloved Aunt Connie.  In the early years in Kelowna, Glenn belonged to a wheelchair square dancing group where he met people with whom he remained good friends throughout his life. Glenn, accompanied by Aunt Connie, enjoyed many winters in Phoenix, Arizona visiting relatives, playing a little golf and volunteering at the Carl T. Hayden Veteran’s Medical Center.

Glenn enjoyed life to the fullest. He always had a joke to tell and a song to sing. He was a firm believer in eating dessert first. He loved nothing more than being out with people, and talking and conniving to have that second Dilly Bar!  Glenn enjoyed his last six years at White Heather Manor in Kelowna where he received tremendous compassion and loving care.  We will always be grateful for the White Heather family.

A memorial service will take place on Friday, September 6 ^th , 2013 at 11:00 am at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel in Portage la Prairie, MB led by Wilma Shirriff.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
