Glenn Arnott

June 24, 1927 — July 17, 2016

Glenn Alexander Arnott

On Sunday, July 17th, 2016 at Lions Manor in Portage la Prairie, with his wife Evelyn at his side, Glenn passed away shortly after his 89th birthday.

Glenn was predeceased by his father Merlin, mother Verlie and brother Jim, brother in law Stan Hamilton, and niece Shauna Arnott.

Left to celebrate his memory are his beloved wife of 53 years, Evelyn of Portage la Prairie; daughter Cheryl Arnott and husband Steven Hallan of San Diego, California; son Roy and wife Marilynn Arnott and granddaughters Taylor and Sarah of Killarney; sister Lillian Hamilton of Brandon, sister in-law Darlene Arnott of Killarney; brother and sister in-law Bob and Virginia Lanoway of Beausejour; and many nieces and nephews.

Glenn grew up on the farm between Killarney and Dunrea, finishing high school in Killarney.  He went on to the University of Manitoba, graduating from Agriculture in 1953.  He worked for Manitoba Agriculture as an Ag Rep in Boissevain, and Regional Director in Portage until he semi retired after 30 years of dedicated service.

Glenn enjoyed travel around Manitoba for friends, family and sports.  His passions were certainly softball and golf.  There were many golf games and pitches thrown both here at home and in Mesa, AZ.  He was also always a willing volunteer for community groups and projects.

A funeral service to celebrate Glenn’s life will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 1:00pm at Trinity United Church, 15 Tupper Street South, Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, with Rev. Julie Baker officiating.     A private family interment will take place in Killarney Cemetery.
