With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our Wife, Mother, Grandma, Nana and friend Gisele Wegleitner, who died on Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 63.

Gisele will be lovingly remembered by her husband Irv Wegleitner of Portage la Prairie; children Paul (Gaea Jess) Wegleitner of New Minas, NS, Curtis Wegleitner of Winnipeg, Tammy (Chris Wilson) Reber of Annaheim, SK, Kristie (Ryan) Chodachek of La Salle, Maggie her fur-ever companion and son-in-law Dean Reber; grandchildren Odin, Meryk, Oliver, Zoey, Claire, Max and Katherine; siblings Gary (Marg) Graves, Claude (Diane) Roche, Ron (Marie Ann) Roche, Jo-Ann (Jerry) Gurdibaniuk, Michel (Pam) Roche and Nicole (Alan) Vandepoele; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  She was predeceased by her parents Jean and Eva Roche; siblings Dennis Roche(infancy), Marie Roche(infancy) and Leona Graves; brother-in-law Jack Wegleitner and sister-in-law Louise Wegleitner.

Gisele was born on May 14, 1954 in Ste. Rose du Lac, MB to Jean and Eva Roche.  She attended school in Ste. Rose and prior to her marriage on June 14, 1972, she worked at Lions Café and Ste. Rose General Hospital.  While raising her children, Gisele worked as a secretary at Ste. Rose Roman Catholic Church, while also being an active Brownies Leader and executive of the Ste. Rose Boy Scouts.  She was also a strong supporter of her husband’s Knights of Columbus involvements.  As a TOPs member she was crowned queen of western Canada.  Gisele was a meticulous crafter whose creations were generously given to loved ones.  Her quick wit and humour always livened up social gatherings and she genuinely enjoyed entertaining family and friends.  In 1984 Gisele and her family moved to Thompson, where she worked as a secretary then obtained her Realtor license and achieved top producer where she surpassed and established new standards.  In all of Gisele’s endeavours, she could envision the product of a project before starting.  Gisele moved to Portage la Prairie after she retired in 2005.  She enjoyed its tranquility, natural beauty as well as travelling and spending time with  her children and grandchildren.  She volunteered on the Portage Potato Festival committee, Prairie Welcome House and the Good Shepherd Parish.

Gisele will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Prayers will be held at Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 7:00 pm.  Funeral Mass will take place at Good Shepherd Catholic Church on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 1:00 pm led by Father Gerald Langevin.
