 After a short illness, with family by her side, Gillian Charlotte Harkness passed away at the Portage District General Hospital on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the age of 64 years. 

 Gillian is predeceased by her beloved husband Grant; father Bill Warren; father-in-law Glenn Harkness; sister Alison and sister-in-law Beth.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children Scott (Laura); grandchildren Tatyana, Alexis, Mercedes and Emily; mother Kathleen Warren; sister Jocelyn Warren; niece Erika (Chris) and their children Jayme & Dustin and niece Kirsten (Virginia) along with her mother-in-law Jean Harkness; brothers-in-law Shawn (Karen), Kim (Hilda) and Howard (Shirley) and their families. 

 Born and raised in Portage la Prairie, Gillian graduated as a registered nurse and retired after 33 years.  She married Grant on November 9, 1974, their son Scott joined the family in 1982 and daughter Brianne in 1990. 

 Gillian was very outgoing and friendly.  She was talkative, loyal, caring and concerned for others.  Gillian was a problem solver, very loving and kind and would do anything for anyone but her family came first.  She enjoyed walking with friends, aquasize, reading and spending time on the computer.  She was a long time member of Trinity UCW and the Herman Prior center. 

 Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 19, 2016 at Trinity United Church at 1:00 pm followed by the interment at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. 

 In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Canada: Manitoba Division, 825 Sherbrook St, Ste 204,Winnipeg, MB R3A 1M5 or to a charity of your choice.
