Gilles Henri Bernard
Suddenly on Saturday, November 29, 2014, Gilles Bernard husband of Marie Bernard passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 63 years.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Marie; son Richard (Pam); daughters Michelle (Susan) and Vicky; step-daughter Donna-Marie Sanderson; beloved step-grandchildren Caitlyn, Britany, Breanne (Eric), Kelsey-Marie, Brooklyn, Madison and Carter; great grandson Lukas. Also left to mourn are siblings Jeanne (Albert) Rouire, Gertrude (Henri) Lambert, Suzanne (Dale†) Hargin, Monique (Wayne) Lambert, Denis, Lucille (Greg†) Smith, Gisele (Jacques) Ricard.
He was predeceased by his parents Eugene and Odile (nee Muller); numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends with whom he held long term friendships.
Gilles was born and raised in Haywood, MB. He worked for numerous farmers throughout his life, his final job being a truck driver for EF Moon Construction. Gilles loved his farming, his trucking and driving. He was known for his great sense of humour and his contagious laugh. He always had everyone laughing at all times, he never went anywhere without cracking jokes. He loved to go for coffee with his buddies and loved to tease his grandkids
Prayers will take place at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 8:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 11:00 am at Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church in Portage la Prairie, MB led by Rev. Eric Giddins.
