On Tuesday February 17, 2015, Gerry Sanderson passed away at the age of 73.

Predeceased by his parents George and Jesse Sanderson, his step-mother Alice Sanderson, and his first wife Bonnie Johanneson.

He is survived by his daughter Roberta Jo Reeves (Brad) and grandchildren Courtney, Corrine, and Christopher, great-grandchildren Koltyn, Dallas, and Kassyana.  He is also survived by his brother Bob (Lesley) and sister Linda (Barry) Christianson and their children; former wives Mary and Sandi and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Gerry was born in Portage la Prairie and moved away many times to always return. He had a variety of occupations - farming, trucking, sales of light industrial equipment, maintenance, and restaurants. He was most recently a carpenter.  He may be best remembered for his many years in the music industry, first singing with local bands: Brookers and then the New Imperials, and later traveling through the western provinces as a solo performer.

Gerry never lost his love of the land and would produce an extensive garden from which he willingly shared with everyone. He was consistently a generous spirit who will be remembered fondly by all of his extended family and his many friends.

Friends and family are invited to come celebrate Gerry's life on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Fairboard Office from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
