George Henry Warren

We regret to announce the passing of George Warren on Sunday, November 28, 2010, in Portage la Prairie at the age of 89 years.

George made his career in the Royal Canadian Air Force as an aircraft engine technician. After his retirement he was employed at the Lions Prairie Manor. George loved the outdoors such as hunting, fishing and camping. He always had a beautiful vegetable and flower garden which he spent much of his leisure time in. He enjoyed listening to country music. George's hobby was woodworking, making birdhouses and garden ornaments. He volunteered at the Lions Prairie Manor in their hobby shop. George was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 35 years.

Predeceased by his father George Edward Warren and mother Marcelle Warren and one brother Maurice, George leaves to mourn his wife Evelyn of Portage la Prairie; son Glenn (Susie) of Portage la Prairie with grandson Grant; daughter Sandra (Bryan) Birkett of Battleford Saskatchewan with grandchildren Julien and Derek; son David (Margaret) of Powell River BC with grandsons Tommy, Donnie and Keith; sister Mary Sears of Kenora ON, nephew George Sears as well as great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

To honor George's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be a private family service.

As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in George's memory to Lions Prairie Manor Foundation Inc., 24 9th Street SE, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 3V4
