George Albert Storey

Peacefully on January 21, 2012 at Douglas Campbell Lodge our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, George Storey passed away at the age of 81 years.

George will be lovingly remembered by his wife of nearly 59 years Shirley (Carr), five children: Heather and Ray Currie of Minnedosa; Scott and Sheola Storey of Creighton, SK; Pat and Twyla Storey of Flin Flon; Kathy Storey and Barry Place of Kelowna, BC; Ally and Gord Fraser of Hay River NWT; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Tom and Kay Storey; foster brother and sister-in-law Mac and Shirley MacDonald; brother-in-law Bob Carr and great-granddaughter Ryann Glenda Bohn.

George was born October 19, 1930 in Portage la Prairie, MB and lived his school years at Delta. His first job was with Len Harris Electric of Oakville, then Andrews Garage of Oakville and went on to work 46 years for the Rural Municipality of Portage. He loved his home, feeding the birds, cutting the grass, planting flowers and blowing snow as well as traveling to visit family.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Douglas Campbell Lodge for their care and compassion.

Funeral Services will be held at Trinty United Church on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 1:30 led by Rev. Brian Flower. A private family interment will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in George's memory to Maple Grove Cemetery c/o Pat Williams Site 42 C4 RR3 Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 3A3 or a charity of your choice.
