George Klein
On Sunday, February 14, 2016, hearts forever bonded. With his family by his side, George was released to the next world at the age of 56 years.
Left to cherish George’s memory are his loving wife of 30 years, Marilyn (nee Friesen), sons Curt & Anthony, niece Felicia Friesen (Kelly) and their children Gabriel, Keira and Kaseigh, brother-in-law Dennis Friesen, sister-in-law Ruth Peters, parents Albert and Asnath Kleinsasser, sister Mary (Hardy) Kleinsasser and their 3 sons, brother Robert Kleinsasser, and his son Nathaniel and his 2 cherished dogs, Jack and Tessa.
George was lovingly devoted to his wife Marilyn, having celebrated 30 years of marriage on New Year’s Eve. They grew up together, raised a family and worked together. Through thick & thin, it was worth it all, with unfailing love and memories to last forever. George loved his sons with all his heart, doing the things that bond a father to his children, teaching them how to drive, going fishing, car care and always being there meeting their needs. Many special times were spent with Ruth, and with Felicia and her three children – she is like a daughter to us. George loved being busy. Whether it was work or walking, he always had someplace to go. Taking the dogs for a ride and a run, or being with Tessa who stood faithfully by him and always waited anxiously for his return! George had many great memories of his long career at McCains. A long standing employee, George worked there for 36 years, and for 35 of those years, he never missed a day of work. George took great pride in his work, and taught those same ethics to his sons. George helped many people throughout his life, and it really meant a lot to him. George never liked to see anyone in need.
The family would like to thank the doctors and especially the excellent ICU nurses at Portage District General Hospital for the care George received. Special thanks also to Wayne Semchyshyn for all you’ve done. And special Thanks to Ruth for being there in every way.
A celebration of George’s life will be held at McKenzie’s Portage Funeral Chapel on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.
