Gary (Johnson) Wayne Meeches

With great sadness and sorrow in our hearts, we announce the passing of our father, husband, son, brother, uncle, cousin and great friend Gary (Johnson) Wayne Meeches of Long Plain First Nation.

Gary was always a kind, caring and loving person and father. He loved spending time with his daughters and grandchildren. Gary loved spending his time watching sports such as hockey and keeping stats in one of his many sports journals. Gary also loved to play Bingo and loved going to Church. He looked forward to spending time at the Adult Day Program in Long Plain First Nation, making puzzles along side his mother Bessie and Eva Wescoupe. Gary also loved to joke around and make people laugh.

Gary leaves to mourn his beloved mother Bessie Meeches, and in Gary's own words "the love of my life, my heart" Karen Maytwayashing and Gary's five daughters; Crystal, Adrienne, Sheena, Carrie and Destiny; along with 13 grandchildren, Braden, Rainee, Heavenly, Chance, Shadow, Harley, Faith, Patience, Romeo, Hope, Antony, Skylar and Paradise. He also leaves to mourn 2 brothers; Leroy and Ricky and 3 sisters; Robin, Joanne and very special sister Delphine, along with Edmund, Farrell, Lisa and Geraldine. Many other extended family and friends too numerous to mention.

Meeting Gary in Heaven are his dad Jim Daniels, brother Darrel and sister Laura. Neice Skylar and Frank Meeches also those who raised him grandparents Joe Meeches and Hapa Wescoup.

Wake will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 4:00 pm at the Long Plain Spirit Lodge. Traditional Feast will be begin at 12 noon at the Long Plain Spirit Lodge on Thursday, April 28, 2011 followed by the Funeral at 2:00 pm. Bernice Catcheway will be officiating. Interment will take place at Long Plain Cemetery
