"Foss Sr."
Peacefully on Monday, May 7, 2012 at Douglas Campbell Lodge Fawcett C. Garrioch passed away at the age of 86 years.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Shirley, parents Vernon and Gladys, daughter Heather Christoffersen, brothers David and Bennett and best friend Tom Cochlan.

Foss was born in Portage on April 2, 1926 where he was raised and attended school. For a brief time during the war, he was enlisted in the Prova Corp and upon returning home, was working at Southport 7 A.O.S. It was there that he met his wife Shirley Campbell. They were married on September 27, 1945 and resided in Portage all of their married life.
Foss worked as a signal maintainer for over 30 years with CNR and spent many cold nights on "trouble calls". Dad was an active member in many groups over the years, with "Game & Fish" and "Southside Hockey" being two of his favorite pastimes. He spent many good times hunting and fishing with family and best friend Tom Cochlan.
Gardening was a passion of his, which he later used while tending flowers at Douglas Campbell Lodge.
Foss was known as a weekend cook and some of the fondest family moments involved his "gut" soup, toasted tomato sandwiches and "late night" venison chops. But his favorite times were when he could find an audience to tell a story to.
A Celebration of Foss Sr's life will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 1:00 pm at St Mary's Anglican Church led by Rev. Brian Flower. As per Foss Sr.'s wishes please come dressed casual.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Foss Sr's memory to Children's Wish Foundation, Portage Regional Committee, Box 1106, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 3C5.
A tree will be planted in memory and cared for by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel www.mckenziesportagefuneralchapel.com
