It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Frances Antoine on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at the age of 56 years.

Frances was predeceased by her beloved parents, Frank and Marion Antoine, and her cat Lucky. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Florence (Ben) Karalash of Calgary AB, her brothers Raymond (Liz) Antoine of Cereal, AB, and Albert (Vera) Antoine of Haywood, MB, and many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her many friends, especially Jenine, Keely and Courtney.

Frances was raised in Haywood, Manitoba. She faced many challenges throughout life, but she was strong and was always able to turn a bad situation into a good one. She was always a fun, loving child at heart. She was very well known in the Portage community as "Franny" and she always managed to get what she wanted when she wanted it. Her favorite pastimes were coloring, music, knitting and animals.

The family would like to thank everyone who expressed their sympathy through cards, phone calls, visits, prayers and your presence at her funeral. Thanks to Rev. Margaret Scott for the beautiful service and homily. A heartfelt thank you is extended to all doctors and staff at the Portage General Hospital, we appreciate the sincere concern and compassion you showed Frances in her final days. Thanks to ACL (Accredited Community Living) for all their hard work and dedication in supporting Fran. A special thank you goes out to Keely and Courtney for staying at her bedside until her final hours.

Finally, thanks to Jenine for your guidance and support during the planning of Franny's funeral and to McKenzie Funeral Chapel for your compassionate and professional service on that day.
