Florence Anne Davies

Peacefully on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 with family at her side, Florence A. Davies, passed away at the age of 91 years.
Florence was predeceased by her husband George Davies, her sons George Davies and Leslie Davies, sons-in-law Allen Walker, Roxy Carpenter, Ron McIntyre, and daughter-in-law Joyce Davies. She was also predeceased by her sisters Celia Archambault and Sadie Campbell, brother Jack Archambault, sisters-in-law Dorothy Davies, Jessie Davies and Winifred James, and her brothers-in-law Fred Davies, Vernon Davies and Alan Davies.
Left to cherish her memory are her children and their families; daughter Margaret Carpenter and her children Phil (Lori) Carpenter (great grandchildren Adam and Matthew), and Natalie (Dean) Verwey (great granddaughter Candy (Peter) and great great grandchilren Jarred and Kylie); daughter Jacqueline McIntyre and her children Kirby McIntyre, Kevin (Lynne) McIntyre (great grandchildren Dana and Connor), and Kerry (Susie) McIntyre (great grandchildren Brianna, Jared, and Jordan); son Bryan Davies and his children Shawneen Davies (great granddaughter Serena), Andrea Davies (Jade) (great grandchildren Abigail and Whitney), and David (Jesselyn) Davies (great grandchildren Leah and Jill); daughter Dianne (Wayne) Walker-Gillam and her children Alana (Doug) McAuley (great grandchildren Kylie and Walker), and Jason (Bridgette) Walker (great grandchildren Carson, Cohen, and Carter); daughter-in-law Judy Davies and her children Bobbi-Lynn Cook (great granddaughter Alex), Kim Tidsbury (great grandchildren Kelsey and Gilles), and Leanne (Mike) Thomas (great grandchildren Elizabeth, Tyrel, Morgan, and Zachery); and her granddaughter Lesley-Anne Davies.
Mom was born in Rivers on August 9, 1920. She worked on the Coltart Farm and Dad worked on the Trimble Farm. They met and married in 1938 and together they raised 3 boys and 3 girls. They lived on the Trimble farm south of Portage until 1957 when they moved to Westbourne.
Florence loved baking, cooking, knitting, sewing, and she always had a beautiful garden. Mom loved her family and she always had time for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
A memorial service in celebration of Florence's life will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel. A private family interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery.
