Evelynne Callander

February 8, 1953 — October 26, 2019

Evelynne is also survived by many brothers/sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, cousins and their families, as well as many cherished friends.  She was predeceased by her parents Charlie in 1994 and Rita in 2008.

Evelynne was born on February 8, 1953 to Charlie and Rita Organ. She was the youngest of three siblings. She grew up in Langruth, attending school there before graduating from William Morton Collegiate Institute in Gladstone in 1971.  She had a social spirit and cherished time spent and memories made with family and friends through those years.

Evelynne married Ken Callander, also from Langruth, on August 12, 1972. Together they raised their two children while creating homes in Winnipeg, Langruth and MacDonald. Later they also followed their careers to Yorkton, SK and Sperling, MB before a final move to Cromer to enjoy retirement.

Evelynne built a career in the banking industry, starting with the Royal Bank in Winnipeg. After taking time to raise her young children, she returned to banking in Amaranth, followed by Portage, Yorkton and Winnipeg. She retired in 2014 after 30+ years with Scotiabank.

Evelynne was always busy working on home décor and renovation projects. She loved her flower gardens and enjoyed a glass of wine on the deck or around a campfire. She was an avid curling fan and loved to watch figure skating. She also enjoyed travelling to chuckwagon races, and cheering on her children and grandchildren at sporting events.
