After retirement, Evelyn and her husband Gerard moved back to Portage la Prairie to be closer to family. Evelyn much enjoyed being a part of the Portage community, she was a long-time member of the A.N.A.F. Unit 13. She volunteered and was appointed President of the Unit 13 Ladies Auxillary for many many years. She also did the organization of Tuesday night Crib games until her health no longer allowed. Evelyn would not pass up a good card game which gave her time to catch up with those who knew her well.
Evelyn’s family would like to extend a heart filled thank you to neighbor and special friend Betty Roe for her special care in Evelyn’s final days. Also, thank you to the PDGH for the caring and prompt attention.
A graveside service will take place at a later in the Elm Creek Cemetery.
