With sadness we announce that Eric Wood began his journey to the Spirit World on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 40 years.

Left to mourn his passing are his children Garry, Eric Jr., Aila, Bella, Jordan, Mabel and Luscios, mother Maxine, father Glen, siblings Glen (Joanna), James (Melanie), Joanna, Carol, Billy and Miles, and his grandpa Don, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Eric was predeceased by his grandparents Max Merrick, Leona Walker and Mary Jane Perswain.

Eric worked as a drywaller for many years, and always provided for himself. His hobbies were gardening and preserving what he grew, and taking pictures of the buildings he worked on, many of which were in downtown Winnipeg, Portage la Prairie and Brandon. He always worked alone. He liked listening to a wide variety of music, from the blues to Jomi Hendrix to Luciano Pavarotti and many more.

Wake will begin at 4:00pm on Friday, February 21, 2025 at the Long Plain Spirit Lodge, Feast & Ceremony will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 12:00 noon at the Long Plain Spirit Lodge. Burial will follow at Dauphin Myerion Cemetery.
