Eric Roy Taylor
Peacefully, with his family by his side, Eric Taylor passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 67 years.
As a husband, father, brother and papa, Eric was a happy man. Many people will think of Eric as an optimistic, loyal and thoughtful man with a welcoming smile. He was always the person you could call on for a listening ear and sound advice; preferably over a meal. He made people feel significant and had his full attention. His kids and siblings would consider him to be an advisor from diagnosing a car issue thousands of kilometers away to helping work through life's biggest challenges. Eric has left a legacy of love and laughter that will allow us to cherish his memory and forever keep him close to our hearts. We will miss him, his beautiful smile, the wrinkling of his nose and his one of a kind hugs.
He worked hard in his community and built a long standing reputation as an upstanding businessman.
He lived a beautiful love story, when he met an American girl, Darlene, over 47 years ago. They were married in 1971, and went on to raising 7 children he was enormously proud of. His eyes truly twinkled with the arrival of his 12 grandchildren. He loved his home, busy with family and friends around; family is always central to him and Darlene.
The family would like to thank all the friends and family who sent their love and support, the staff at SICU, Health Science Center, and the emergency staff at Portage District General Hospital.
Eric will be lovingly remembered by his wife Darlene, children Yvonne Taylor, Duanne Taylor, Veronica (Jodie) Sokolosky, Bryce (Leann) Taylor, Clinton (Carly) Taylor, Terrace (James) Banman, and Candace Taylor, 12 grandchildren, mother Doreen Taylor, and siblings Beth (Richard), Pat (Lesley), Peggy (Jeff) and Faye (Ricky) as well as numerous extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his father Roy Taylor in 2008.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 11:00 am at the William Glesby Centre in Portage la Prairie, MB with Bill Lyall officiating. A reception will follow the service at the Herman Prior Centre.
