Peacefully, on Sunday, March 27, 2016, Elsie Mulder passed away with family by her side at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 78 years.
Elsie is predeceased by her beloved husband, Simon; and her parents, Herbert and Evelyn Radford; and siblings, Ted, Marion, Enid, and Ronnie.
Left to cherish her memory are daughter Donna (Bob) Matthews; grandchildren Pam, Chris, Tom (Vanessa); great-grandchildren, Cadence, Autumn, and Maliya; son Ken (Cindy) Mulder; grandsons Jordan and Cameron; siblings Pat, Kay, Dorothy, Bill, Bob and Harold; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Mom stayed at home to raise her children to school age and then entered the work-force. Her first job was at The Burger House for Vi Currie, where she continued to look after us. She also worked at McCains for a short time, and went on to join the Manor work-force, where she met many good friends. After retirement, she continued her earlier life and watched over many, many children, who forever remained in her heart. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and spent many hours with them, teaching them her wise ways. She enjoyed sewing and loved to give quilts as baby gifts to whoever needed one. Saturdays were spent garage saling and picking up more material for sewing.
A viewing and visitation will be held at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel from 7:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, March 30, 2016. Funeral service will be held at 1:30pm on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel. Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery.
