Elsie Brown

Peacefully on Friday, July 1, 2022, Elsie “Wussie” Brown passed away at Portage General Hospital at the age of 94 years.

Elsie was predeceased by her husband Calvin Barrie Brown, their son Scott Barrie Brown and daughter-in-law Katherine, grandson Jonathan, brother Elgert “Ollie” Burton and sister Joan Milmine.  Left to cherish her memory is her sister Catherine Ann Disturnal, daughter Catherine Schopp and son Daniel (Carol) Brown, along with 10 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren who she all loved and cherished.

Wussie was born on November 3, 1927 and her life was centered around Macdonald, Manitoba until she moved to Portage 15 years ago.  Her loving, caring nature and her sense of humour along with her outspoken abilities will be in our memories forever.  We would like to thank her good friends from Windsor Park Estates, Eva Hofer from Airport Colony, and the staff at Portage General Hospital for providing just comfort and great care.

There will be a private family service held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Elsie's memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
