Elizabeth Marie Levesque

Marie Levesque passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 at Lions Prairie Manor at the age of 81 years.

Marie was predeceased by her parents Aleatha and Hilton Wilson and siblings Donald, Vivian, Keith and Glen.  She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her daughter Sarah (Blair) and their daughter Kiana (who she always said was her best birthday present). She is survived by her sister Gayleen; brothers Raymond and Kirk; special nephew Malcom; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She also leaves to mourn her passing special additions to her family Alina (Tim), Hanna, Kaitlin and Ben.

Marie grew up in Portage and returned in the 1980s to help care for family. She enjoyed her last few years before retirement working as a Walmart greeter. But Marie's true passion was looking after her daughter and granddaughter. She spent her happiest years making halloween costumes, baking birthday cakes and making cookies for Sarah to take to school. She loved sewing, baking, painting and reading fortune cards. In her last few years she was lovingly cared for by the wonderful staff at the Lions Prairie Manor. She was instantly at peace when she came to live there and found her new home the perfect place to take on her new hobby of singing.

Family would like to acknowledge all the wonderful care she received during her time there and from all the other medical professionals she met along her journey over the years. We were all her sunshine on a cloudy day.

A private family burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Marie’s memory to the Lions Prairie Manor Foundation Inc, 24 - 9th Street NE, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 3V4.
