Elizabeth passed away quietly at Portage District General Hospital on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the age of 90 years.

Elizabeth was raised on the family farm in Edwin district.  She was born on July 13th, 1925 to Jane and Thomas Gourley.  She married Cecil Johnson October 3 rd , 1950 and together raised their 2 children in Portage.

Beth will be lovingly remembered by her son Wayne; daughter Donna (Mitch) Cook of Lethbridge, Alberta; grandsons Chad (Tatianna) and Nixon of Coaldale, Alberta, Jason (Jody) and Madison  from Lethbridge, Alberta; sister Gladys Nichol of Portage and several nieces and nephews.

Beth was predeceased by her parents Jane and Thomas Gourley; husband Cecil in 2011; brothers David (Mary) Gourley, Andrew (Lillian) Gourley; sisters Margaret (Jim) Cook, Jessie (Johnny) McCartney, Mary (Neil) McKenzie and brother-in-law Glen Nichol

The family would like to thank the staff at the Portage General Hospital and a special thanks to home care for the wonderful care she received while still in her own home.

A private family burial will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.  Family and friends are welcome to a reception to celebrate Elizabeth’s life at McKenzie Portage Funeral Chapel – Trimble Room on Friday, October 23 rd , 2015 at 12:00 pm.

As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Elizabeth’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
