Edna Mary Riehl (nee Fidler)

Edna Mary Riehl passed away on Monday, March 7, 2011 at the age of 95. Edna is survived by her loving husband of over 60 years, Clifford; sisters Ella, Ethel (Wally) and her brother Bud (Dora) as well as brother-in-law Ken and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Alfred and Lillian Fidler, sisters Gladys and Winnie and her brother Jim as well as several in-laws.

Edna lived a long and happy life in her hometown of Poplar Point. She helped raise many of the children of Poplar Point and became like another mother to several of those children. Edna was the lady who everyone went to for sewing, homemade remedies and gardening tips. She will be missed by one and all!

Special thanks to the ETU staff at the hospital for their care and compassion, especially those that helped to make her birthday special. An extra special thanks to the extra special people that helped make Edna's last months and days bearable, specifically, Marie, Elaine, Kathy, Cece and their families.

A Memorial Service will be held at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 1:00 pm. Interment will take place at a later date at St. Anne's cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Edna's memory to the St. Anne's Anglican Church c/o Ellen Griffiths Box 30 Poplar Point, MB, R0H 0Z0.
