Edna May Brennan
(nee Watters)
Peacefully on Saturday February 19, 2011, at the Douglas Campbell Lodge Edna May Brennan passed away at the age of 94 years.
Edna is predeceased by her beloved husband Alexander Brennan and her parents Gordon and Elizabeth Watters. Left to cherish her memory are her children Don (Pat) of Brandon, Ken (Audrey) of Portage la Prairie and Charlie (Mavis George) of Portage la Prairie; grandchildren Shannon, David, Scott, Chris, Mitch, Bryce and Natalie; great grandchildren Jennifer, Kyle, Taylor, Nolan and Gage.
She attended Business College in Winnipeg after high school and worked in the Insurance business until her marriage to Alex on March 20, 1942. Upon Alex enlisting in the Air Force, they were stationed in Clairsholme, AB and Gimli, MB and eventually settled back in Portage la Prairie. Their children are very proud of the fact that Mum and Dad were true entrepreneurs showing a great work ethic in the many years that they both ran their electrical contracting business in Portage la Prairie.
Mum had a great sense of humour, always enjoyed a good laugh and was always in tune with world events. She lived for her family and gave all of her time and love unconditionally. In the event that she found time to herself she very much enjoyed needle point, petit point and crocheting.
A family service will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Edna's memory to the Salvation Army Portage la Prairie Corps, 220 Duke Avenue Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 0S6
A tree will be planted in memory and cared for by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel www.mckenziesportagefuneralchapel.com
