Edmond Joseph Tanquay
Peacefully with family at his side, Edmond Tanquay passed away on Friday, April 16 at the age of 67 years.
Edmond Joseph was born in Winnipeg in Rooster Town where Grant park shopping mall is now. He was born to Albert Joseph and Louise Tanguay on January 2nd, 1943. Eddie was one of eleven children. At a young age, his Mother passed away and six months later his Father. The children were then separated, some moving in with the Nuns, some to foster homes and some to the M.D.C. Throughout Eddie's life he resided at the M.D.C and foster homes. In 1999 Eddie moved in with his last Foster Family: Sandra Spriggs, Bev Gale, Frank Horodecki, James Horetchko, Jack Sayak, Tom Horodecki, Kodi Smoke, Max the dog and his darling Jamilee Gale (Shaun Nepinak).
Eddie was a working man and took pride in his work. He spent 35 years at the Portage Creamery, Anderson Autobody, and Project S.A.M. where he worked till his passing.
Eddie enjoyed the family life, eating out, going for drives, bingo, playing cards, terrier games, and camping at the lake. Eddie loved a music concert and his favorite movies Stuart Little and Shrek. Eddie will be missed by all that new and loved him.
A Celebration of Eddie's life will be held on Friday, April 23, 2010 at 11:30 am at the Lion's Den on the Island.
As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in memory of Eddie to Project S.A.M. Inc, 75 4th Ave NE, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 3J5.
A tree will be planted in memory and cared for by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel who are in care of arrangements. 857-4021 www.mckenziesportagefuneralchapel.com
