With heavy hearts and with his family at his side Earl Prince passed away on Tuesday January 28, 2020 at Health Sciences Centre. Earl peacefully passed away at the age of 65 years.
Left to cherish his memory is beloved wife Marge Prince of Dakota Tipi, children Juanita (Kris) Prince-Miller, Laura Prince, Dallas Prince, Gracie Prince, all of Dakota Tipi. Grandchildren Angel, Alex, Carson, Naomi, Myles, Xander, Dreyson, Raidyn, Dereon, Gianna, Ava-Lyn, Livayah. Great-Grandchildren Alayna, Zane, Logan, Mila. Siblings Betty Traverse, Leona Freed, Sandy Prince, Peter (Tara) Prince, George Prince, Yvette (Bernie) Singh, Yvonne Prince, Stephanie Prince, Doug Prince, Larry (Liz) Prince, Simon (Garda) Prince, Shane Prince, Kyle (Brooke) Prince and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives & friends.
Predeceased by brothers Steve Prince and Dennis Prince, sister Jean Prince, nephew Kirt Prince, and son-in-law Alvin Pangman.
Earl was born on April 26, 1954 to Rufus Prince and Grace Siha in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba. He was raised in Portage La Prairie until he met his wife Marge and moved to Dakota Tipi First Nation where he started and raised his family and spent his remaining years. Earl had 4 children, 12 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren that he loved dearly. When he was younger, he worked in construction on Dakota Tipi First Nation, he drove the Dakota Tipi school bus for many years, He then became self-employed and opened up his own smoke shop and gas bar.
Earl loved hunting with his close friends and spending time with his family and he made sure he was at every birthday party and family event. He had an amazing sense of humor that lit up a room and would make everyone laugh. He had a big heart and helped anyone he could. He enjoyed weight lifting and travelling to many different places as well as working on his vehicles in his garage. Earl gave his heart to the Lord and he walked with him until his passing. He was an amazing man that will be missed dearly by all his family and friends.
Earl’s wake will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Dakota Wicozoni Health Centre on Dakota Tipi First Nation at 6:00 pm. Memorial Service will take place on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at 2:00 pm with lunch being served at 1:00 pm, at Dakota Wicozoni Health Centre with Larry Bird officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Sioux Village Cemetery.
