Dorothy Mary Mulvey

Peacefully on Thursday, March 1, 2012, with her family by her side, Dorothy Mulvey beloved wife of the late Morris Mulvey passed away at the age of 90 years.
Left to cherish her memory are her children and their families: son Bob (Nan) and their children Colleen Cochrane (Greg) (great grandchildren Sadie and Seth), Sean, and Shannon Mulvey (Ken Hillman); son Bill (Linda) and their children Mike (Lisa) (great grandchildren Josephine and Bennett), Mark (Christie) and Scott (Jasmine) (great granddaughter Rowan); son Jim (Barb) and their son Rob; son Terry (Heather) and their children Jessica (great granddaughter Zoe), Matthew (Lichelle), Riley (Lindsey); daughter Kathy Egan (Richard) and their children Michelle, Sara, and Christopher; daughter Nancy Brooks (Ken) and their children Randi, Derrick, Jeremy and Jayson. She is also survived by sisters Mildred Lavergne (Riel) and Frances Campbell and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Morris Mulvey, brothers Wilfred and Stanley and nephew Don Bromilow. She was also predeceased by brothers-in-law Bill Mulvey, Frank Mulvey, Jack Campbell, sisters-in-law Nettie Mulvey, Margarette Mulvey, Alice Bromilow, and Doris Bromilow.
Dorothy was born on February 5,1922 in Winnipeg and attended St. Edwards School and Daniel Mac High School. During the war years she worked at the cordite munitions plant in Transcona where she met and later married Morris Mulvey in 1947. She ran the family home in Winnipeg until the family moved to Portage la Prairie in 1960 where she continued to raise her family and continued her book keeping career with various local companies in Portage, most notably Narvey's, Greenbergs and B and R Versatile farm equipment. She was a member of the Catholic Women's League and an executive member of the Legion.
Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday March 7, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba led by Rev. Eric Giddins.
A private family interment will take place later at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
As expressions of sympathy, if friend's so wish, donations may be made in Dorothy's memory to Good Shepherd Parish Building Fund, 114 Countess Ave, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N OT2 or a charity of choice.
