Dorothy is survived by her sons Gordon “Eric”, Clayton “Ricky” (Rhonda), Dwayne (Angel) and Matthew “Sheldon” and special grandson Keyodie, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters Donna (Art) and Karen (Brad); brothers Leslie (Phyllis), Louis Jr. (Shirley), Maurice (Gwen), Dennis and Darrel (Dianne); sister-in-law Leona Myran, Uncle Wallace Meeches; special friends Val Contois, Yvonne Laporte, and Gloria Linklater, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Ralph Cameron; parents Louis Myran Sr. and Louise Myran; brothers Thomas and Gordie; infant sisters Marilyn and Marlene, and nephew Gordon Louis Myran.
Dorothy resided in Long Plain First Nation for the last 15 years. She attended residential school in Teulon, MB. Dorothy loved to cook, and was known for her famous fried bannock & soup. Dorothy had a green thumb, and loved planting. She liked to be surrounded by plants & flowers. Dorothy also liked to decorate her house for all the holidays because she knew how much her grandchildren enjoyed it. Dorothy worked for a number of years at Long Plain School as a Teacher’s Aide, as a Health Care Aide in both Brandon and Long Plain, and also as a cook at Long Plain Daycare where all the kids called her KooKoo. Her special brother-in-law Art loved to tease her, and always treated her so lovingly. Dorothy also spent a lot of time with her special friend Val – and if Val didn’t show up for coffee when she was expected, Dorothy always found her. Dorothy was a strong believer in the Traditional ways, and in the Christian religion. She passed her faith on to all of her relatives.
Dorothy’s love and memories will forever be cherished by each of us.
