Donna Kucharsky

After a courageous battle with cancer, Donna Kucharsky peacefully passed away on December 10, 2018 at Riverview Health Centre with family by her side, at the age of 55 years.

Donna was born on November 8, 1963, in Treherne, MB, to Joseph and Josephine Kucharsky. She was raised in St. Claude, MB, and obtained her healthcare aide certificate, working at St. Claude Health Centre, Tache Nursing Centre, in addition to opening her own foster home and working as a Direct Service Worker in Portage. Donna was passionate about her career and greatly cared for her clients.

Donna enjoyed spoiling her devoted pet babies (Harley and Skunky) with endless love. Family was always a top priority in her life and she took on a motherly role, guiding each and every one under her wings.  Donna was a generous and giving person, who would always put others’ needs before her own. She would always be willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She was passionate about the Winnipeg Jets, socializing with family and friends, and taking her pets and clients for cruises in her truck. Donna always ensured that her truck was in top-notch condition.

She will be greatly missed for her unique sense of humour and immense care for others.

She will be greatly missed by her brother Ken (Sheri) Kucharsky; sister in-law Tammy Kucharsky; nieces and nephews: Lyle (Leanne), Ashley (Dusty), Amanda (Blake), Richard (Calyne), Kevin; great nieces and nephews: Emily, Bailey, and Joelle; Hayden, Kirsten, Summer, and Anthony; Jayden; Abby; along with numerous extended family and special friends.

Donna was predeceased by her father and mother Joseph and Josephine (née Chevrier), brother Ronald, as well as nephew and niece, Brayden and Angel.

The family would like to send a sincere thank you to the staff at Riverview Palliative Care, Victoria Hospital, Central Plains Cancer Services, and Dr. Omichinski for their care and compassion.

A celebration of Donna’s life will take place at the William Glesby Centre, on Sunday December 16, 2018 at 1:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Donna may be made to the Riverview Health Centre Foundation c/o Palliative Care Program, 1 Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4.
