Donna Marie Koss

On Thursday, March 26, 2015 Mom passed away peacefully after a brief illness, at her home in Portage la Prairie, at the age of 72 years.

Donna Marie Koss was born on November 5, 1942 in Shoal Lake to Mary (Dowalatek) and Donald Ross.  She spent many years in Angusville and Russell before moving to Portage la Prairie in 1981.

Mom was happiest in the kitchen, baking muffins or making perogies and cabbage rolls.  Her hobbies included gardening, fall canning, knitting, crocheting, bingo, word search and crossword puzzles.  She loved her grandchildren and spent many hours reading stories, colouring pictures, doing puzzles, playing cards and games with them.

Donna was predeceased by her parents, her husband Robert Koss of Russell and life partner Earl Wooley of Portage la Prairie.  She is lovingly remembered by: daughter Cindy (Gerry) Mountain, grandchildren Steven and Danielle; son Bruce Koss, grandchildren Kalynne and Christian; daughter Samantha-Jo Wooley (Mike Popoff), granddaughters Emalee, Amy and Jala.  She will be sadly missed by her sister Pat (Ron) Yaskiw and niece Susan as well as an extended family of in-laws, nephews and nieces and good friend Joyce Scheper.

A Graveside Service to celebrate Donna’s life will take place on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 1:00 pm.  Friends are asked to gather at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel at 12:45 pm to proceed to the Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Donna’s memory to Sunset Palliative Care Inc, Box 92, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 3B2.
