Dolores Peters
Peacefully, with her daughter Kim and granddaughter Freeda by her side, Dolores Peters passed away on Monday, May 9, 2016 at Douglas Campbell Lodge in Portage la Prairie, MB at the age of 70 years.
She was predeceased by her mother Marie; father Arthur Branconnier; aunt and uncle Albert and Alma Richard; son-in-law Hector McKay and aunt Louise Branconnier. Dolores will be remembered by her children David, Darryl (Anita) Vivier, Dean (Wendy) Vivier, Kim McKay and Dion (Cheryl) Vivier; grandchildren April, DJ, Jeremy, Hayley, Shane (Cynthia), Freeda, Antoinette and Tyler; great-grandchildren Peyton, Serenity, Naresa and Berkley; daughter-in-law Maggie; father of her children Victor (Debbie) Vivier; 3 sisters and 2 brothers as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Mom was a sassy lady, no beating around the bush! She was blunt and cut to the chase. Douglas Campbell Lodge became her home in November 2011, and although the transition was hard, over time she came to adore some of the staff.
The family would like to thank Kristi for being there for us, even though she didn't often work night shift.
Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2016 at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel. Father Gerald Langevin officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date in the St. Eustache Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Dolores’ memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 103 Wilkinson Crescent, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 1A7.
A tree will be planted in memory and cared for by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel. 204-857-4021 www.mckenziesportagefuneralchapel.com
